Edward Williamson, a Mississippi accident attorney, is a native of Neshoba County, where he established The Edward A. Williamson Law Firm in 1976. Mr. Williamson has been a practicing Mississippi injury attorney since December of 1973.

The Edward A. Williamson Law Firm has represented injured persons and the wrongfully accused in criminal courts for over 35 years. During which time, Mr. Williamson has served as both the Circuit Court Judge and District Attorney for the Circuit Court District, which includes Neshoba, Leake, Newton, and Scott Counties. Members of The Edward A. Williamson Law Firm are active and leading members of the American Association of Justice, formerly known as the American Trial Lawyers Association; the Mississippi Association of Justice, formerly known as the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association and other national and state bar associations. Mr. Williamson has served as the President and held virtually every leadership office and board position in the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association and is presently a lifetime member of the Leaders Forum and the Mississippi Association for Justice; a President's Club and a sustaining member of AAJ.

In addition to obtaining many seven figure verdicts and settlements for clients over the years, Mr. Williamson has achieved the highest rating established by the university recognized lawyer rating service, Martindale Hubbell Law Directory, an AV rating. In addition, Mr. Williamson was awarded recognition as a Fellow in the National College of Advocacy in September 2004 under the auspices of the American Association of Justice.

Education: Prior to opening his private practice, Mr. Williamson received his B.A. degree from The University of Southern Mississippi, and his Juris Doctorate from The University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphrey's School of Law. Mr. Williamson graduated the National Judicial College in 1988.

Involvement in Professional Associations:

Throughout his career, Mr. Williamson has been substantially involved with the American Association of Justice and the Mississippi Association of Justice, formerly known, alternately, as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Williamson has held virtually every office and committee chairmanship in the Mississippi Association of Justice, including the office of President from May of 1998 to June of 1999, and is currently a Lifetime member and a member of the Leaders Forum.

Other Activities and Interests:

In addition to his professional involvement, Mr. Williamson is an active alumnus and supports The University of Southern Mississippi. He has served as Chapter President, Board Member, Officer, and President of the International Alumni Association (1998-1999). Mr. Williamson was inducted into The University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Hall of Fame on October 18, 2002, and just finished an appointment on The University of Southern Mississippi board in 2008, and continues to serve on the past-president counsel.

Also, Mr. Williamson is active in the Democratic Party, having served in 1996 as a delegate to the Democratic National Committee and continues to be actively involved in the State, and local Democratic Party, as does his wife, former Mississippi State Senator and former Chair of the State Party, Gloria Williamson.
